www.babyuniverse.com

Project: Review Gift Registry for usability and consistency.

Challenge: The Gift Registry had inconsistent design, labels, and interface design, and needed recommendations for future features.

Users: Gift seekers, new parents, friends and family of babies and children.

Solution: Current and Recommended Site Maps were developed. All pages of the Registry were illustrated along with any problems and recommendations. New recommendations included ability to create more than one type of registry; verification pages for deleting registries, creating registries, and modifying registries; revisions to Registry creation e-mail; revisions to instructions on adding products to registry; and GUI redesign of the Registry Contents page.

Dr. Joanne Pransky web site

www.robot.md

Project: Dr. Joanne Pransky, User Experience and Web design, Quality Assurance.

Challenge: Joanne wanted a fun site to introduce people to her and her work, and also to get a spot on TV shows and other types of interviews.

Users: TV show recruiters, engineers, publishers, colleagues.

Solution: Retain logo and colors from business card, giving the site bright colors and a fun feel (the logo is a cartoon image of her and a robot patient). Group content according to her consulting areas and include an Appearances section to promote her for TV and radio spots, and an Ask Dr. Joanne section to introduce the concept of asking her for advice on matters dealing with humanoid robots. Put section's sub-nav on the right so that when the page is printed none of the text of the articles will cut off.

attachments catalog web site

www.attachmentscatalog.com

Project: Attachments Catalog, User Experience and Web design, Quality Assurance.

Challenge: Create a store as well as a showcase for owner's bought inventory, own photography, and ideals.

Users: Primarily women with families who raise their children by "attachment parenting", as well as shoppers for alternative, women-empowering gifts.

Solution: Create two parts to the site. The "About" section gives customer policy as well as insight into Lori's ideals and purpose for creating her catalog. The store section groups product into pages according to how Lori knows her customers will try to find gift items. Each product page includes a vignetted photograph by Lori, a quote relevant to attachment parenting, links to relevant Web sites for further information, and descriptions and photos of the products.

www.rheem.com

Project: rheem.com, Information Architecture, Quality Assurance.

Challenge: Rheem wanted to update and redesign their water heater site.

Users: Retail customers, dealers, distributors, service people.

Solution: Structure the site so that each type of user can readily find the information that pertains only to them, Site Map revision, User Interface Design, and Quality Assurance testing and regression testing.

www.myflorida.com

Project: myflorida.com, Information Architecture, content classification, agency Web team meetings, Quality Assurance.

Challenge: Governor Jeb Bush wanted to integrate the top State agency Web site's content into one State government portal.

Users: Citizens, lawmakers, politicians, government employees, government business partners, students, travelers.

Solution: A tool bar and global navigation structure was developed which reflected the top types of content any user might search for. There was a meeting with each agency's Web team regarding the future of their Web content and the process, and each agency was taught how to make a content matrix (Excel content classification document) of their pertinent content to be integrated into the portal using a content management system, and each content matrix was reviewed and corrected. Other suggestions and random Quality Assurance evaluation was performed.
